A transformer supplying a three-wire distribution system has a single-phase input (primary) winding. The output (secondary) winding is center-tapped and the center tap connected to a grounded neutral.
either end to center has half the voltage of end-to-end. Since the two phasors do not define a unique direction of rotation for a revolving magnetic field, a split single-phase is not a two-phase system.

I didn't say two phase, I said dual phase. Which isn't a commonly used term to describe it, as far as I know. It's single phase, or split phase. Antiphase doesn't actually apply in this case because the 120volt legs are not 180 degrees off of each other. Not when supplied by a single transformer, anyhow. It's a transformer with multiple taps, is all.

Ours aren't difficult to wire. You just have to have a little finger strength if you're doing it around the screws vs plugging into the back of the outlets/receptacles that support it. Preferably if they do, the screw tightens the metal against the other piece and it doesn't rely on little springs or something to apply tension to keep the wire still. If done right, the connections are solid and won't be an overhear issue due to poor contact when a load is present.
Our plugs aren't designed to fall out, if that's what you're thinking. And the newer child resistant ones can be a royal pain in the ass to unplug the device as well as plug it in. It grabs them pretty damn snug. Solid is better, because, again, this reduces the chance of a poor connection/worn connection causing an overheat issue as was shown in your picture. Obviously though, eventually the outlet does wear out and should be replaced, but, if you aren't plugging stuff into it all the time, that shouldn't happen very often.

Well, not really. They have dryer vents as well; so aren't able to just move it around like you would a tv set. You typically put it in the laundry room and that's where it spends it's life, most of the time. Plug it in once, don't worry about it. Our water heaters don't plug in at all, they're direct wired to the system and newer wiring has a disconnect (with or without fuses and/or it's own circuit breakers) that allows you to kill the current going to it so you can change elements, etc, if needbe. Same goes for our stoves, what you call a cooker I suppose? It usually has a place setup for it, and that's where it lives too. Plug it in once, unless it's a direct wire job to a dedicated line. In all three examples, properly wired, they are all dedicated lines. I can pull 5kw or better on the stove circuit. Same goes for the dryer, etc.
If we're using 240volt electric stack heaters, they might also want
5kw of their own, so, dedicated circuits are quite handy for the purpose. I haven't used one of those in a long time though, because they are quite noticeable on the power bill if used for long durations of time.

2.5mm(2) is equ to 13ga (American). You're also known for running 4.0mm (2) which is equ to 11ga (American). So we're not wasting as much copper as you might think and aren't carrying as much extra current as you might think either. Our typical outlets aren't being fed by 30-
32amps. And, our devices don't require plug fuses, either.
Oh, and troubleshooting our radial circuits isn't as complex as your ring ones.
We can run 14ga for 120volt circuits, 12ga, and for long runs, 10ga if one thinks it's necessary for a voltage drop issue. Such as a 120volt sign a ways from the business.

Our 120volt circuits can handle a 1500watt power sucker tied into them all day long. You can go upto 1875 watts without exceeding the capacity of a 20amp circuit. If you need more juice, you opt for a
240volt circuit with the proper wiring and breaker to support the load you're needing. 5kw or more is no problem.

If the little table lamp isn't pulling more than it's wiring is rated for, that shouldn't be an issue. And, if the circuit feeding it is gfci/arcfault combination breaker, the risk of a fire before that breaker trips isn't very big. Our circuits are typically 15a to 20a for 120volt, so, you're the one with the larger fuse and a slightly more dangerous wiring configuration. With higher voltage for every single outlet in your house, no less.

Nope. We use a light switch, or in modern times, the switch is a 'smart' one and turns the lights off for us when it detects no motion in the room for a specified amount of time. And, when we enter the room, it'll bring the lights online for us. Some even remember whatever the dimmer setting was and retain it. Our lights don't all require plugging in, either. Many are direct wired to circuits and located in our ceilings.

They are somewhat rare, but, not entirely. A switched receptacle here usually has one that's always hot (top or bottom) and the other controlled via a switch on the wall. So you can turn off devices plugged in (such as indoor xmas lights meant to be visible from a window). You can either wire them to share the same actual power source, or run two different hots to them. As long as they're coming from opposite legs, you can share the neutral, but, if not, you should be providing each with it's own. I'm not entirely uptodate on
2017 code yet though, so this may have changed. I do know that our light switches now require both hot and neutral being available inside the box, so switch legs are a no no now.

In my experience the hot/cold cycle screws them further in so you cannot easily remove them from the socket. Smashing the glass and gripping the remaining metal screw in bit with pliers is a lot more dangerous than removing a bayonet fitted bulb.

Wrong. In the USA, you have a table lamp with a minor fault, it starts drawing 10 amps, the wire gets hot and sets fire to the carpet or wallpaper. The breaker or fuse in the fusebox won't trip as 10 amps is fine for that socket.
In the UK, the table lamp is fitted with a 3A (or in my case I use 1A, but for some reason shops don't sell those much) fuse in the lamp's plug. So no matter where I plug it in, the wire is protected.

You've never heard of condenser dryers? For goodness sake nobody vents = dryers anymore!
But in the kitchen I have other big devices like microwave, kettle, slow= cooker etc. One plug, one socket, throughout the entire house.
