the dryer is 3kW continuously for an hour and a half. So all the time the washer is heating, that's 6kW.

Yes so how much are you heating that demands 3 kW continuous then;?.

Or does you understanding of the word "continuous" differ from how most anyone else might understand it??..

A washing machine full.

It's long enough to melt the double socket. They're rated at 20A and they should be rated at 26A, like the MK ones are.
