Weed Identification

May 12, 2010 2 Replies

Hello, I have a weed in my garden which I am struggling to identify. I would like to know if anyone can be of assistance. It has a linear cotyldeon leaf, a red stem up to the cotyledon leaf and then green up to true leaves and white roots (There are no hairs on the stem). Its true leaves are of a heart shape with a serated hedge. Please see attached photo. Thanks, Joe

Looks like a tree seedling... any mature trees nearby with those leaves?

It's definitely of a maple tree (Acer pseudoplatanus).
