Scallion, only cheaper!

Hi All,

I became time for me to cull my white onions to make room for their bulbs. I have a big bag of them in my refrigerator and cook with them a lot. They are down right yummy! Can't tell them apart from scallions (except for the white bottoms). And way, way cheaper!

Never saw the cooking need for scallions. Just chop up an onion. But that may just be me.

it's a color and presentation thing for some people. i like them sprinkled on top of soups, but i don't want them cooked in the soup. other uses for green onions abound. i like them anyplace regular onions can be used. just cooked enough to heat them through a bit bit not turned to mush.

almost any form of onions i like cooked, partially cooked or raw.

That would be really yummy in chicken stock!

I add to macaroni salad. Mac, mayo, cucumber, snipped green scallions, salt and pepper. Easy and summer cool.
