It shouldn't. OE gives the option to either reply in the original format or only in plain text. It's a separate option from how your own posts appear.

If you have html turned off, you won't see the link. Genius boy, woodworking mentor, has apparently not figured out how to include URL links in text posts.

Finally had an a-ha! moment and looked at the source for the post, and there it was, embedded with the dreck.
