Back in the days of the "woody" station wagons a couple of good ol' boys bought one.

NJ and NY agreed to settle the matter by having a sailboat race around the island.
New York says it now has Staten Island because they won the race.
New Jersey says New York now has Staten Island because New Jersey won the race.
