Didn't get the job. Turns out that he was just looking around at what was available. I've run into this before. Happens more when the economy sucks. Then, when the economy is good again, they cry about not being able to find qualified people. In this business (machine work), layoffs are common even during good times. I have a policy that any place that lays me off, I don't work there again. Worked at one place about 7 years ago where they layed everybody off a week before Christmas and then called them back after the holidays so he could save having to pay holiday pay. Slimeball called me up after the holidays wanting me to come back to work for him. My answer? FU and the horse you rode in on. I won't say the name of the company but it had horse in the name. Twit went out of business before that summer. Good riddance.

Then don't break a leg, at least not yet.

Sooner or later it's your turn.

BTDT, It's why I became self employed.

I guess you won't be sending a small donation to the Democrats for stimulating the economy.....

Oh well.

Maybe next year. Or the year after.

That is really unfortunate. Better luck next year.

Have you thought about looking into retraining or recertifying? Couple of my friends and one of our sons were out for more than six months and started getting primed for something else. Boy got recertified in three months and scored a job fairly quickly. My friends both had the misfortune to retrain into real estate and get a couple years out of it before the bust. :(

Great! Now is the time to concentrate on "job keeping." My job got shipped off to India/China where they work all day for pennies.
