OT: Honey bee hive in fascia

window. I don't want to kill them, and I don't want to get stung. My plan is to wait until winter but I'm not sure what I will find then. Has anyone had good luck dealing with this issue?

Find a beekeeper. I understand that someone with the correct skills and tools can relocate a wild hive. Here's a little bit on the process

Some beekeepers will gladly come and take them away. Check with your local agriculture bureau if you can't find one.

UGH. Back in the early 2000s my partner and I fell in with an entomologist with a well-known Texas pest control company who mostly called on us when one of their guys managed to step thru someone's ceiling. Three or four times, though, it was to clean up and repair things like soffit or fascia, perhaps drywall in a closet, following a honey bee removal. I say UGH because the gooey sweet smell was overpowering. I'm surprised I like honey on my biscuits as much as I do. Jump to the present; I get honey now from an oilfield technician who keeps a few hives at the South Texas Ranch I hunt. He related as how a couple of hives in a deteriorating old wooden house on that ranch had Africanized bees kn those hives and how he had removed and destroyed the Africanized queens, replacing them with some of his domesticated queens which allowed him to remove those hives. FWIW

I'm curious how he domesticated the queen bees. Does he invite them to cocktail parties? Take them out for dinner?
