Old Machines

Aug 15, 2008 2 Replies

I know this is a woodworking group, but some of you just love old tools. A friend of mine just got blessed with a deal from heaven. He picked up a Craftsman metal cutting bandsaw (model 1012290), in perfect working order for $20.00, stand and all. (some folks should be shot :-) )

Do any of you have any idea when this was made?

Thanks

Deb

You might want to give your friend this website dedicated to old woodworking machines, primarily, but includes metal working tools also.

to the website Craftsman tools with prefix 101 where made by Atlas Press Co. from 1934 to 1960. The web page includes pictures of bandsaws made during this time frame by Atlas and other info such as history of Atlas Company that may be of interest to your friend.
