Well, I got the one set of garage doors hung and discovered a problem. *I still need to install the door knobs, locks, etc.
I widened this doorway to accommodate rolling my telescope "cart" through. *The cart is a transport for the telescope: Large Size Universal Wheele y Bars, with the 10" wheels -
The room behind the garage was once a hand tools shop, but I don't use it a s a shop, anymore. I, now, want to store the telescope in this room. Beh ind one of the new doors is a wall cabinet, a shop cabinet. The cabinet i s preventing the door from opening all the way, hence, the hinged edge, of the door, is within the doorway. I had widened the doorway, enough, to al low for 1" of space, on each side, for the cart. With the door not openin g all the way, the door makes for that 1" spacing to be negated.
I'll have to remove the wall cabinet. I hadn't anticipated this problem a nd I'm not looking forward to removing this cabinet, i.e., more work. I d o have a work bench-corner cabinet, behind that door, that I did plan to re move, so not all may be so bad, as it seems.... just a little frustrating a nd further delaying the finishing of this part of the project.
Maybe not quite poor planning, but certainly an unanticipated consequence. There is a wall cabinet on the exterior wall, also, so I'm considering removing it, as well, rather than widening this doorway more, than the othe r.
