Even easier in Win10, the Windows Explorer left hand pane starts with (sort of) shortcuts under the words Quick Access. First is Desktop, second is Downloads, then Documents (all for the logged in user, of course).
I've put a Downloads shortcut on the desk top:-)
After deleting all the PDFs I still have a flock of application files. JPGs and zipped jobs are understood.
