..and just to prove a point, Talktalk's email server seems to have been inaccessible for most/all of this morning. TT treat there email service as a take it or leave it service, rather than an integral part of the deal you are paying for. Imagine if you are awaiting delivery of a time critical email and the server goes off for several hours at a time and quite frequently.
Outlook regularly logs in for email and every time it logs in, it flags up that it cannot log in, which needs to be then dismissed. Something I complained about regularly to TT, but they blamed my email package, or its settings - never their server.
Plusnet took 2 days to set up my phone line, but the broadband will not be active until 21JAN19, so it's a good thing that I have a BT Wifi hotspot 1 month account.
The infrastructure is still BT, pretty much anywhere unless in the large metropolitan areas, so would have taken the same time regardless of provider chosen.
