(Finally got round to reconnecting to Usenet. Forza eternal September!)



I'm trying to find some information about about using the control mechanism of a "follow me" golf cart to control a "garden trolley".



Anyone done this?

Would be a lovely thing to have. To go shopping, camping, walking etc. The only problem is I'd have to push/pull/steer it.



So, without making a giant leap, it occurs to me I could re-purpose an electric follow me golf cart to do all the boring stuff.

I'm really wonder if I could source the motor + computer control mechanism from the golf cart to drive the garden trolley.

So do I. No matter how many times a week I go out I still fluff the same shots, and I envy those that have a trolley that will go to the other side of the green without my having to hold its handlebars.

"No Unauthorised Golf".

A sentiment which should be universal, in my opinion.

The annual Councours is held on the 18th green of the Pebble Beach Golf Course, an excellent use for it. At least they can't play golf for the whole day.

I'd check whether it was legal. My first thought is that you may find that it becomes a Pedestrian Controlled Vehicle and needs to be registered, insured and for the user to have a valid driving licence.

The Pebble Beach one is expensive:

And the Concours is a chance for the hoi polloi to walk all over the green of the 18th hole. For an entry fee of course. Currently $495, pre-booked. When I first went in 1994, the entry fee was $50, no booking required.

IMO: over-engineered, too expensive, can't fold away for storage, and will need to be powered to stay upright.

A cheaper way to get it to follow you would be to tie a length of rope to it and tie that around your waist. :-)
