Hi all, My son has a newish car that only has a USB input socket to play music instead of a CD Player.
Are there portable CD Players that could be plugged into the USB socket, to save me having to record the CD's to flash drives?

Ripping CDs to MP3 these days is pretty quick, and lots can be stored on a flash drive. Maybe the car has also bluetooth audio, and you could store and control the playback from a mobile phone/tablet.
Going old school about it is a bit puzzling, but if you really want to you probably could use a FM transmitter thing with your portable CD player. That USB socket won't have any potential for this type of use.
Does the car allow playback via Bluetooth? Many do.
Stick the music on his phone, then!
+1. I have about 150 CDs taking up 12 GB of a 16 GB flash drive, it's just a copy of the music library on my desktop.

I myself nor him do not have a smart phone just an old one that does talk and texts.
I was hoping for a way round having to rip his CD's but it seems its either that or buy the music he wants again.

Buying the music again is totally unnecessary.
If it's really too much DIY hassle (it isn't) then there are many companies out there that will do this for you.
