Unusual shower fixing

Can't get the link to work.

of the wall and the threaded end attached to the shower hose. The plastic a ttachment no longer holds secure when the water is turned on. Has anyone se en this attachment before and know which makes it? My friend can't get it o nline or from a plumbers merchant. If this attachment is obsolete, what alt ernative attachments can replace this? I guess a replacement will require r emoving a few tiles, chase out around the top of the pipe, cutting the pipe and fitting something new?

The pictures I have are the ones I was sent. They were taken on a phone and I am helping the less than tech savvy person with the problem to broadcast this question in the hope we can get an answer, even if it is "replace the whole thin" (hopefully not necessary).

The pictures view fine on my PC but that maybe because I have GDrive sort o f "linked" to Windows Explorer on my PC.

I have copied the images to Dropbox, tested them, and created a new link:

Do they view any better now?

Clicking on the image thumbnail previews on my PC opens up a larger version of the images. They aren't the sharpest image but someone who knows the fitting will recognise it.

Looks a bit feeble to me - two claws to hold it tight onto the seal.

If the shower head offers more than a bit of resistance then there is a lot of pressure to push it off.

A temporary fix may be be to fit the white plastic attachment and force the gripping prongs hold it tighter with the use of a cable tie.

It would help is we have information on the size/dimension of pipe.

Normally is the shower hose a permanent fix or is it designed to be unplugged and used in this mode?

Very out of focus picture but copying and enhancing the picture of the pipe appears to show a hex nut on the copper fitting and a cross head screw(s) holding a plastic cover plate.

I wonder if unscrewing the hex nut on the copper fixing will reveal a

A solution will depend on what is behind the cover plate and if the pipe interface unscrews.

A lot better pic, but still not clear enough to see fully what it's doing.

I agree with the comment above that the existing design looks completely fe eble and is a wonder it ever worked. I don't know if was intended to be det achable. It looks like this "thing" would best be replaced with a standard screw fitting (link to example given in a post above) and a few winds of PT FE Tape on the thread should make it pretty solid.

Also, it looks like the part had 6 latches but 4 have broken off, and the wall mounting has come off its wall-plugs.
