I earlier, had a problem where if I clicked on a post, the post would often show up as blank. Clicking on another post, then back on the black one, would allow the contents to be displayed...
Whatever the source of the issue, this week the issue seems to be resolved, with no help from me.

They re-wrote some of the handlers. Maybe at one time, the handler was written in C code, and they hired a guy to rewrite in Javascript. (Some of the code was from the Netscape Communicator era, and had ns_ in the subroutine names, to give some idea how old the C code was. The USENET News specific code, was not particularly well maintained, and had one stupid architecture feature in need of a fix.)
Your software receives regular updates.
The 129,130,131 are monthly-test-only and not for usage. The 128 will receive bug fixes for a while yet. Other ESR were 78 and 91 and 115, to give you some idea of the span between truly new versions. The 115 is the last one for Windows 7 and Windows 8. (Windows 10 and Windows 11 are "approximately" the same OS and are still in support.)

so you can see that there is the potential for people to not understand how to parse these. 78, 91, 115, 128esr then, are not named consistently at folder level. But if you do Properties or About in the program menu, it should indicate the stream you are on. The upgrade-logic in the updater, figures out which is the next release. And there are .mar files (Mozilla Archive) for doing delta-updates to the install. Sometimes several deltas are needed to bump a full version. The program does not always download 55MB of file (whole new installer), when 5MB of file will do the job.
Firefox is the display engine for Thunderbird. A version of Firefox is frozen and used for a collection of ESRs. The Thunderbird version number then, may relate to the same version number of Firefox, so there is some synchronization going on. You don't want to pull in a new version of Firefox every week (as a developer), as it would take too long to merge into the source tree without breaking something. The ESR then, should have a consistent engine for the duration of the releases in a collection.
Checking a date in the folder, will give some idea when it was released.
