Thunderbird odd behaviour since update

If I click on a thread, on a post, often as not, the body text of the post will show as blank/no text in it. The only way to get the body text to appear, is to click on a second post, then click back on the post.

I've had that. I don't know whether the server has anything to do with it.

I have seen that in the past - but usually it has been the server dropping the connection before retrieving the article. Clicking away and back again forces it to have another go.

I would probably run wireshark and see what is happening at the network level.

I use E-S as the newserver.

So do I, but I have not seen the described behaviour. Ubuntu 18.04.

I switched to SeaMonkey because of the problems with recent versions of Thunderbird ... it seems much faster and (shock!) just works

But suddenly I am seeing some other odd behaviour. Whereas I can usually select a message, and drag it to the relevant Local Folder, it is not working every time now. It seems to just sit where it was, but it is the subject line that is still on the Inbox. Clicking on the message results in an unsuccessful opening of the message.

Weird.

I'm also getting 'sent' messages going to Local Folder/Sent rather than the sending account's designated 'sent' folder.
