Three planes above N Yorkshire this afternoon

My 16 channel DVR lost two camera channels. I disconnected one and reconnected and both started working.

That's how you lock them on.

It's a right PITA. We went through a phase of getting brief 1-second power cuts (tree branches touching HV cables somewhere in the area) and every time the 500 W PIR halogen floodlights would latch on - we'd discover very high electricity usage for those days. We turn those lights off if we are going away on holiday to save massive bills when we come back - or else I've replaced them with LED lights fittings with similar PIR sensors.

That only works for the planes that file flight plans.

The military on training exercises generally don't.

Whatever it is they are practicing for the gloves are definitely off!

In all the decades I have lived here I have never seen one come in so fast and low over my house (well under 200') and actually land in the back field. Rather too close for comfort to the mains supply for the village! I will investigate just how close tomorrow with the farmer.

My camera didn't go live fast enough to catch it over the house. We were having dinner when I saw him inbound and fast at hedge hopping height. By the time I'd grabbed my camera and got outside he was already past us (which is presumably their intention against surface to air missiles).

The field was combined over the weekend so no damage but it threw up a hell of a lot of dust and straw into the air. I guess it is perfect conditions for practicing this stuff right now calm and good visibility.

Nothing on the low fly list for my area so somewhat odd...

I am sometimes in Leyburn although more often in Northallerton or Richmond. Might be amusing to meet up sometime over the summer...

how about this for low flying:

Those fools will get what they deserve when eventually one of the heavys stuffs up and lands short.

Have a look here for licensed microwave links its written in French but easy to understand.

Anyone know why there so many links across the channel; and thru London;?...

If they were the same three going on intercept the ones that passed me this afternoon were a faster lead aircraft followed by a pair. They were delta wing Eurofighter Typhoons fairly high and were not hanging about.

Fairly loud and fast with afterburners on but not quite at the sound barrier. I was expecting to hear/feel a dull thud once they went over the North Sea but I didn't hear anything.

I at the Wensleydale school all summer but I am sure that I will get dragged off Alverton for a day or a weekend. Hi viz and safety boots if you want to come in.
