RIP The Medway Handyman

David Peter Lang unexpectedly peacefully passed away yesterday.

He leaves behind his two daughters Rebecca and Nicola and grand daughters Hayley and Beatrix.

Goodbye my friend.

A long time since I saw him posting here, at least it was a peaceful end.

Yes, he was helpful while he was here, I think the brexit posts put him off, which is a bit odd as he was pro-UKIP sometime earlier.

I'm trying to think of a comment involving funerals, wireless doorbells and reversing cars, which isn't disrespectful.

Interesting poster.

How old? He didn't seem geriatric.

I've said before we need a system for such announcements but have no idea how to make it work. My family have no knowledge of uk.d-i-y! I suppose instructions could be packaged with the will..

How sad. One of the posters that I would always look out for and read. He posted good stuff.

Thank you Adam, I am sorry to hear that.

I will remember him fondly as someone who was happy to share his knowledge unselfishly on subjects he had experience of.

His enquiries related to his handyman business were targeted at giving his customers the best possible service and I admired that.

He mentioned his family with fondness on multiple occasions and I hope you are able feed back to them that he was well thought of here. Having known you here for some time, perhaps under a different skin, I think that is something that you will do.

Best, PB

Sad news. He always struck me as (in the vernacular of his roots) a diamond geezer.

Very sad and unexpected...

He always gave generously of his time and posted much that generated lots of interest and discussion. Even his foray into crime fiction writing was a surprisingly good read for a first book!

The few times I spoke to him he always struck me as one of the good guys.

Must be especially hard on them having lost their mum not that long ago, he always posted with such pride in his girls.

Please pass on my condolences when you get the chance.

Far too young then! How sad for his children.

When Covid started and Terry Casey had just passed away I made arrangements so that friends of mine that have no contact with my family (or the newsgroup) could be notified.

A bit morbid but if I died tomorrow Lou would only have to make one phone call or text and it would be sorted.

That seems a long time ago now ... multiple copies still safe BTW

Has something changed in thunderbird 91.1.x?

That's twice it's "tricked" me into a combined email and newsgroup reply both times I only noticed when it stuck sending ... anyone else?

It needs updating and swapping TMH for Rebecca

"our age" is the all-too-frequent thought about that now.
