Quick reminder, test your heating

Getting to that point of the year where it would be handy to find all the broken bits before you really need em ;-)

my system demonstrated that to me on Saturday when one of the Zone valves decided to spring a leak! Old one coming out and new one on order for tomorrow. The room stat is calling for heat! (and so am I)

I already know. None of it has worked for the past three years. I'm still waiting for the tuit.

John Rumm formulated the question :

Already done the breakdown and fix for this year thank you :')

It's quite happily decided it was cold enough to come on twice now.

I've found and disposed of most of the broken bits.

Haven't got round to getting any new bits though.

Jun 21/30 days Jul 5/31 days Aug 12/31 days Sep 6/9 days.

A lot of the July/Aug ones are just for 10 mins to half an hour when the set point rises to 20 C at 1600 for the evening. But those in early Jun and the latter half of Aug and all the Sep days have seen it coming on again later on in the evening to maintain that 20 C. Half to a dozen days over the period have seen it coming on first thing in the morning (18.5 C) and occasionally during the day to maintain that.

All automagically logged via the DIY monitoring system on the thermal store.

And to think only last week I had the reversible Aircon in here set to cool mode!.

Today the missus had the heating back on!..

Mind you we have a visitor who's just come from 33 plus deg C climes!...

I got home from work and the missus was 'testing' ours.

Place is fricking roasting. I guess it works.

If it's that warm then then she must be walking aroung naked or in just her underwear.

That's the only reason I let the wife have the heating on.

Yup I seem to recall it was about this time last year I decided to take my system to bits for a complete refit! Still hopefully nothing will need doing this year.

I have a TRV ready to swap for one that won't shut off, but am waiting for a day when I won't cook myself turning the heating on to test it. Probably any day now ;-)

Oddly she was in PJs & a fleece dressing gown.

I was in my string vest and Y fronts.
