"Get $5 off the item you love in-app". Courtesy of e-bay.
Not only is the almost-word 'app' an incorrect and lazy abbreviation of the proper word 'application', (at the very least it should have a full stop at the end, if it has to exist at all), and the final phrase 'in-app' is terrible.
It reminds me of a signboard on display as I entered a branch of a major book-selling chain in the US, advertising a series of educational initiatives. The signboard used the 'word' "Gonna". I complained that it was not a real word, and received an apology from Head Office. "The End of the English Language is Nigh".
And finally, why must I use an application to get a discount?
