OT: From Twitter today

Our Dave nodding off again. It's Verhofstadt who appears to be wetting himself that if the UK leaves the EU, it will do amazingly well. "Singapore of the North Sea" was his phrase, no one else's. Interesting that potential competition seems to be worrying them so much. Perhaps it's because the EU is a cosy cartel.

Employment standards in the UK have largely come from collective bargaining and are generally ahead of the EU. That is why real socialists such as Tony Benn etc have always been against the EEC becoming anything more than a trading arrangement.
