If there is a chance of fingerprints or DNA they will come round and take samples as there is a chance of a conviction.

If you have the registration number of a car involved in an incident, they are more likely to investigate than if it was just a "blue car", which they can't do much about, unless there is CCTV evidence, even if you think you witnessed a serious offence.

Glad it's sorted, but did the app skip the 5 digit setup first time, or did your brain skip remembering you'd done it :-P

Can you still login to the website without using the app now?

I remember an anecdote told by Colin Dexter, author of Inspector Morse etc.

A car smashed through his garden wall the reversed and drove off. He called the police, who duly arrived, took down his details and made to leave. "Aren't you going to even look at the scene of the crime?" he said "No point - won't tell us who did it" "Not even the number plate lying in the rose bed?"

If only!

A friend's sister had her car broken into while visiting him. The culprit left a metal bar used to break the window and an empty packet of cigarettes behind - both inside the car. They were probably dropped while they rifled the glovebox and both very likely to harbour evidence. The police would not even come and take a look, just giving a crime number for the insurance company.
