Now I understand

Jim sent a message earlier, with just some values in, which made no sense to me at all..

I've just received an email from BG with the very same figures..

It was the discount we will each receive on our energy bills, a discount of £400, with the money included as a discount each month October to March.

Month Amount October 2022 £66 November 2022 £66 December 2022 £67 January 2023 £67 February 2023 £67 March 2023 £67

If your electricity bills are less than £66/£67 a month, you’ll still get the same amount. You can carry on using the discount to pay for your electricity after March 2023 (until all the £400 is used up).

Jim likes his obscure posts, like his "Luka is a boy" one.

I'm not quite sure what they do if you pay quarterly. Will they send you monthly bills that are in credit and that you ignore until the "proper" one comes, or will they just include all the monthly discounts in the three month bill?

Sorry I thought everbody would have been notified ......sorry

I read somewhere, that the energy company will retain any credit, even through to next year, as credit against and to reduce your bill.

It's not clear, what happens to the payment and credit if you change your supplier.

Unlikely you will find a better deal in the next year (or two).

If you change supplier will they let you have their capped variable standard tariff or would you have to take up their fixed price tariff that has already got any predicted increases factored in and tend to be a lot more expensive?
