We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold. I remember Chris J Dixon saying something like:
I wonder how many thousands of great old Victorian doors were sheathed in hardboard because of him. Otoh, it preserved them a bit, not that they really needed it.
