Midea PortaSplit is an air conditioner that has two parts that are permanently connected with a hose. This means that you don't need a qualified AC fitter (which are in short supply during the heatwave), as the gas is already in the unit and stays in.
This unit is extremely popular on the continent, as the outside unit goes on the window sill. That works because most windows there open inwards.
UK windows mostly open outwards, so that's a snag.
Anyway, the purpose of my question is whether it's possible to get one of these with a connector like a bayonet connector for gas cookers. So it comes pre-filled with gas. The outside unit can be hung and a fairly small hole can be made in the wall for the hose connection. The idea of the bayonet connector is that it would not require a fitter, and it would not allow the gas to escape.
Any thoughts?
