Lidl smart lamp reset (re-pairing)?

Well (in case it helps anyone else), there was a more stubborn Ikea lamp that needed the timing to be more specific ... (that led me to find a solution to the Lidl lamps):

Searching the interwebs suggest that many have assumed they had somehow failed and just used them as plan LED lamps.

Those instructions are for resetting the lamp's memory, not for pairing, which is described on page 7. Page 18 also mentions resetting the Cloud, so you might have to do that.

They are Dave if you don't have the lamp in a 'pairing state' in the first place and want to pair it with something different and you have no other way of breaking any previous pairing. ;-(

Yes, most smart lamps (I've played with so far) come 'unpaired' and so indicate such when you first power them up (often throbbing light / dim slowly), making them easy to pair initially.

However, the last 5 lamps I bought from Ikea come pre paired with battery remote controls, meaning that if you want to pair them with anything else (and I did, my home automation system), you have to

*un-pair* them from the remotes first. [1]

Or, if you had them on system A and it died and you want to make use of them on system B, you can't 'un-pair' them from system A and so have to force the lamps into pairing mode somehow.

Not in this case as they were never registered on the cloud (and part of the point of 'this' home automation solution.

I have a couple of TP-Link smart switches that my home automation system can't integrate (or may be able to but I don't know how as yet) that I have setup as most might, as you say via an app on a smart phone and with the info stored in the cloud. I power my Home Assistant system on one so that I can power-cycle my HA setup (remotely if necessary) as it's on a Raspberry Pie and they don't actually 'turn off' as such.

My system can carry on automating the house without access to the Internet or having anything stored in the cloud or on my phone, no nothing to reset there. ;-)

It's fun to be able to turn *all* the lights in the house off or on with one switch that is in your pocket. ;-)

[1] As mentioned these 5 Ikea lamps came pre-paired with small remotes. What I did was unpair the remote from the lamps (by using the 'turn on off 6 times' thing) and then re-paired each device to my HA system. Then I could create an automation that re-links *that remote* with *that lamp*. However, what I could then also do it set the light to come on at dusk and off at dawn, of go off at dawn + 1 hour, or if someone triggers a PIR, or if another light is turned on, etc etc. (In theory) No need to 'un-pair' using the on-off thing again as you can just change the 'logical' connection between the devices with a couple of mouse clicks. ;-)
