Lidl cordless power washer - detergent - minimal information.

I have recently bought the Lidl cordless power washer. So far so good, but I now want to use the detergent attachment.



There is a 500ml bottle included with the package, which seems to be the same size as the container of the foam lance. The instructions just say to put the detergent in the spray bottle. Nothing about dilution, and there are no volume markers on the spray bottle.



I have no idea how fast it sprays detergent out (I assume it mixes it with water as the water flows past) but I would like to know how long a bottle should last, and where to get a replacement.



Just been watching YouTube videos and the reviewers only seem to put about



100ml in so I'll give that a try.

Searching for replacement bottles of cleaner, there is an enormous choice. Karcher detergent gets a good review, as does Gunk (amongst others).



So minimal information, no sign of any link to buy more of the Lidl detergent, but I assume that all these detergents are similar. Also that they are also roughly the same strength as the dilution factor depends very much on the design of the foam bottle and nozzle.

The 500ml of detergent does one car.

I suspect it would still work with 50/50 dilution.

However there is no hint in the instructions.

Next up, I have ordered some Gunk pressure washer detergent and we will see how that performs.

Another pressure washer product, seemed to use a 1:10 dilution for theirs.

And with a sponge in a bucket of water. I did try jetwashing it once but the result didn't seem to be as good as using a sponge, and I was somewhat concerned with the water being forced into parts of the car where it wouldn't normally get in.

Jet washing works in some areas, but a soap or detergent wash with a

*soft* scourer - white not green - loosens the dirt best. THEN use a pressure washer to rinse it all off with.

Is that 'snow foam' or something else?

I've been using cheap 'Carplan Demon Foam', as of this video:

I don't have any kind of pressure washer, so just using it in a hand spray bottle or with a bucket and it's been fine. I'm not a 'detailer' who obsesses about exactly how good the clean is (if I was, I'd have far better tools) but at the 1:5 kind of dilution in a hand sprayer it's ok (PITA to do a whole car though). The car wasn't brown afterwards so job done.

I also tried to pour it neat (it's cheap, especially in 5 litre containers; I was lazy) and that was fine too - used more than I expected so I probably wouldn't do that again.

There's a whole subculture of detailing with reviews of the latest snow foams etc etc. The expensive ones do come out better, but you pay more.

If this is general purpose detergent I suppose you can use snow foam if cleaning something a bit like a car (a bike, windows, etc) but I wouldn't use it on say woodwork.
