Laminate flooring under door architrave

Dec 19, 2006 2 Replies

I have read all the advice about cutting the bottom off the architrave and sliding the laminate underneath but I can't see how the laminate will slide if its already flat and locked to another row of laminate. Am I missing something? Any advice welcome.

You need to make that doorway your starting point.

It shouldn't be locked to anything else when you slide it in. Don't forget the expansion gap. Slide it in with the remote edge hard against the wall, and with the tongues not engaged. *Then* snap it into the next one, restoring the gap between it and the wall. It should still be *just* covered by the architrave, but with some space under the architrave for it to expand into.
