Is it me or is cable getting expensive?

1 roll of 100 metres of CCTV cable, which is coax and power wires
1 roll of 305m Cat6 networking cable
1 roll of 250m of brown Webro WF100 Sat/TV coax cable
1 roll of 250m of black Webro Wf100 Satellite/TV co-ax cable
1 roll of 33metres of Belden 8723 cable (for alarm system)

Drum roll...

£520 all in delivered to front door!

£386 delivered at TLC prices, I dare say you could better it, they only do white/black not brown sat cable, and 8 core instead of 7 core alarm cable.

Copper prices..

No they saw you coming.

less than 5mins online and I have found

Total cost £304 plus £24.50 postage which you could possibly reduce in combined parcels.

I have had problems with TLC direct before. When I got sat cable from them, it was copper on aluminium rather than copper on copper. Thats why it was cheaper than CPC.

I specifically wanted copper on copper for all of the cables.

I think there was a batch of "rogue" cable being sold by multiple companies a year or two ago.

TLC do state copper conductor+foil+braid

I have to look out for CCA or CCS when buying cable, Copper Clad Aluminium and Copper clad steel respectively.

I know copper on copper is more expensive, but five reels for £512....(!)

Some large new Cat 5e or Cat 6 (can't recall which) installations have had to be entirely ripped out and replaced, because CCA was used which doesn't conform to the spec, and more importantly, didn't work.
