Guttering issue

Hi. Sure I can upload one. Not sure where I can post it though. Basically I have a short canopy across my garage which has a gutter running across it. I'm in a semi detached house and the pipe runs down the front of my house for about a foot, then a joint bends the pipe to the right and then the res t runs down the side of my house, joining the drain on the neighbour's land . Hope this helps you visualise it.

I have the same situation. The canopy is made of the front room bay window, the porch and carries on above the garage ie it runs the entire frontage of the house.

My neighbour doesn't have the porch and garage extensions, just the bay. The drain is in the centre, offset a foot or two so it's clearly on the left property, my neighbours.

I just looked, and on a similar pair of semis next to our pair, the common drain is offset to the right property. Perhaps it amused the architect to apply this degree of symmetry. The gutters don't actually join, they both empty into a hopper on the common downpipe. It's never caused a problem. between me and the neighbours.

That sounds identical to mine! It's just the half black half white looks we ird. The guttering on my canopy is black, then there's a foot drop of down pipe, then it turns into a white down pipe. I think I'm going to have to ch ange my guttering to white, so it looks better

hi! I have a section of guttering that is solely to take the rainwater from my garage canopy. Trouble it, it then bends and then runs down the side of my house, then enters the next door neighbours drain. They have now changed their guttering from black to white and changed the down pipe that serves my property as they claim as it runs into the drain on their property, it belongs to them. Surely if this serves my property only, even though it runs into their drain, this pipe still belongs to my property? Help!!

Well, on our block, there are only two downpipes on the two outside houses of the terrace. This works fine most of the time, but with the deluges it really does need all the houses to have installed their section of guttering correctly so the flow goes toward the pipes. Sadly this is not always true, and on the front of my house I have added a new downpipe to a soak away as otherwise all the water from next door goes my way, hits a right angled corner and descends on anyone at the front door! Now a busy body council man tells me that my soak away is not correct, but I just acted dumb and have heard no more.
