Extractor hood recommendations wanted

Nov 01, 2010 2 Replies

I'm looking for a cooker hood/extractor to go under or in a wall unit and be ducted to outside.

I'm assuming the main criteria is low noise and high throughput, ideally with decent downlighting. Mechanical options seem to be threefold, a fixed chunky unit, a slide-out telescopic unit, or a hinged one that folds back into the wall cabinet. I'm inclined to favour the latter.

Any recommendations for makes/models that proved powefull and quiet enough, or conversly any to avoid?

Thanks Phil

I have used TLCs ELICA ones a couple of times. They seem quite nice - not as ugly as some - the stainless version is quite attractive IMHO. Not too loud and good extraction rate.

you need more airflow, there is a more expensive twin motor version as well.
