I have recently power surged a couple of 18v drill batteries to bring them back to life.
I would now like to discharge them.
I've thought of connecting an 18V bulb which can be bought ,but ive no idea what the wattages are and what the rate/time of the discharge should be.
Any advice would be apreciated, and no im not holding the trigger down on the drill for an hour or so.

Probably not a good idea to discharge them because they are multi-cell and you would damage the weakest cells by reverse charging them at the end of the discharge.
Quite. Presumably the idea is to test their capacity. Any load will discharge them, no need to buy one. Stick a 100w mains filament bulb on them.
If you've just fried shorting whiskers, they won't last long - let us know how long.

Don't bother. It's a very short term 'fix' even if it works.
