Yes but you have to drink all of this first

Dark urine is a good indicator.
by then it is too late.....I am never thirsty so I forget to drink and like last night I ended up confused before I realised what was happening...probably end up not doing any tests as well so probably a waste of time
If I throw a stick, will you leave?
indeed...
Women should aim to drink 2 litres per day and men 2.5 litres per day.
This can include water in things like soup, jelly, stews/casseroles etc.
Its also wise to avoid drinks that contain diuretics or high in sugar or salt so minimal alcohol and fruit juices and Bovril/marmite drinks.
the coulour of your pee is a good clue.... dark yellow is bad, straw yellow is OK, clear as water means you're doing well, as your kidensy can excrete excess water (but there is a limit to the extra water being excretable, if you really do drink too much, you can cause problems for yourself canned Hyponatremia which is low sodium levels..)
Other symptons of dehydration aree tiredness, headaches, inability to concentrate, irritability, sunken or darkened eyes
It is nothing like that black and white, it depends on your activity.
I drink about 1 litre a day when not doing anything special exercise wise and have only pale urine.
I don't have anything like that.
And death.
oh dear
Actaully another sway of checking your hydration level is by pinching the skin in one of several locations:

I only drink about 1l a day and havent died yet.
Depends on what you drink. I don't have to force the beer down.
A lot depends on what you eat. a plate of vegetables or a stew all contain a lot of water as does fruit. Even a potato has significant water content. Crisps and nachos don't, though and neither does bread, much.
only if you need to piss
Correct. The colour and the smell are hints.

There's a chart here, with some colours to compare to.

Paul
I became seriously ill as the result of dehydration and ended up in a ward full of people who had also lost their marbles. It was a very strange experience.
Much later, when I was having radiotherapy, it was vital to be fully hydrated. I had to keep drinking water all the time. It was very difficult to get the balance right, so I turned up at the hospital each day with an 80% or better full bladder, but not so full as to have to piss because that would mean I had to start the process all over again.

SH presented the following explanation :
I've been suffering a thirst the past couple of weeks, waking with a dry mouth and often getting up in the night for a drink. At the weekend I had a stabbing pain and persistent headache - both very unusual for me. On Monday, I decided the night weather was warm enough to swap the heavy winter quilt, for the light-weight summer one and give the heavy one a wash. No more thirst or headaches.
Now the weather has turned cooler again, I have had to add a throw over the quilt.
Insulin resistance. Too much starch in the diet .
It happens that The Natural Philosopher formulated :
I put it down to the winter quilt being too warm. I was too hot and sweaty, but reluctant to swap the quilt for the lighter one in case the night weather changed back to too cool.
My only choices at the moment are the too heavy, or the too light one. I am thinking of getting a medium quilt, which combined with a light one (medium and light on together), would give a better triple choice.
