Dehydration

snowing with sun shine here in the near of Girvan...we had the lecy blanket up full last night and we huddled together for warmth ....

In fact that is unusual in my case in that I never have any lunch at all.

I don't ever eat stew or a plate of vegetables. I do mostly have a single medium sized potato with most evening meals except pizza and sausage rolls or a pie etc. I eat hardly any fruit at all currently.

Yes, but the medium one I have most days isn't very much.

I almost never eat those.

I do have a massive great slab of toast and marmalade for my entire breakfast with nothing at all to drink for breakfast.

Put a sheet under the light quilt. That works for me.

We got rid of none fitted sheets long ago. We definately need a medium option, between the winter and summer quilts..

You could *buy* a non-fitted one?

What, spend money :-)

SWMBO has an old single-bed eiderdown. This is tending to fall to bits due to age and depredation by the pussy cat, which sleeps on it, and which honked up supper all over it the other morning at 05.00.

We'd like to get more eiderdowns but they seem to be unavailable. Anyone know anywhere to source them?

Look beyond the big stores to designers such as

Urine colour can be time related.

I'm on a 6 monthly prostate check. Post covid this has been a PSA blood sample and a telephone chat.

In readiness, I record urine flow over a 24 hour period so have an idea of pee colour. I am marginally on the de-hydrated side but have noticed that *unflushed* pee in the toilet darkens considerably over a few hours. The skin *pinch* test is hard to judge but I don't have any of the other listed symptoms.

Jock seems the correct stereotypical name for you. then?

Pinch test is very subjective. Skin loses elasticity with age and it?s normal for skin to recover more slowly from being pinched by the time you get to most of our ages.

I'm on my summer 4.5 tog quilt and am warm as toast, but there again I have added lots of internal wall and underfloor insulation to my 1976 crappily-built semi, and tracked down all the deliberate gaps left by the "i'm alright jack you can't get me, I'm part of the union" builders in 1976 and sealed them up.

The last few days have kept the internal temperature at 18C without any heating at all.

Or a 'fleece' blanket over the top of the duvet.

Or a large dog or cat ...

Car boot sales. Or buy a Welsh blanket (not cheap now)

How can anyone be comfortable at 18C?

Bill

easy...... thick socks, trainers, thick trouers/jeans, T shirt, Shirt and sweater.... oh and keep moving....

or have a king size 15 tog duvet in a double bed (so you dont get cold sides)

S.

P.S. we have two heating zones here so overnight the downstairs is allowed to drop to 10 deg C and is kept at that temperature until about thirty mins before we are due to get up

The upstairs is kept at 16 deg C overnight... no problems with that.

What I do, is put an extra coat on.
