Debit Card expiry

DD can't use the security number

corporates are officially "banned" from storing them (not that everyone complies), they should be re-input by the user every time the card is used in CNP mode

Thanks for proving once again you have the comprehension of a retarded child. That was exactly what I was querying with my first post.

Despite your extreme snipping, you cannot escape the fact that your words in *your first post* were: "What's the difference between setting up a DD via a debit card to setting one up on the account it refers to?"

To which Robin responded: "ISTM you are confusing direct debit mandates with continuous payment authorities."

Please feel free to continue posting about your stupidity.

that appears to exist under American law

That'll be the country that allows vendors not to check the address is the registered address before sending goods (to qualify for limited liability)

so no guarantee that the policy on expired cards isn't equally lax

Which refers *only* to DD.

Then he wasn't answering what I was asking. Anyone with car insurance etc paid for by credit card will already be familiar with a continuous payment authority. I certainly am - for many years.

I was curious to know if you could set up a DD based on a debit card and how it differed from what I know as a DD.

And continue trying to trip me up - one day you might manage. Glad it gives a simple minds like yours pleasure.

Bollocks. He answered perfectly, stating that you were confused.

That is not the wording you used. But, I forgot. You're the bloke who when done for stopping in a bus stop whined like a little bitch about it. You obviously do not ever accept that you are in the wrong.

exists over here. When one of my insurances (cant remember if it was the house or car) was due for renewal the letter said words to the effect that "don't worry if your card has been renewed the card issuer will have notified us of the new card details, if however you have completely changed you card provider you will need to tell us new details".

What's the difference between setting up a DD via a debit card to setting one up on the account it refers to?

Of course I worded it differently. Since a simple mind such as yours obviously didn't understand why I posted in the first place.

I'm glad you are one of those who accepts all regulations without question. Hope you and your other sheep have a good Xmas.

Yes - ages ago there was some attempted fraud on my credit card. In a country I'd never even visited. The company informed me of it and issued a new card with different numbers. Rather annoying. ;-) Was surprised to find an insurance policy later auto renewed OK, while other companies I used that I allowed to store card details had to be amended.

I understood perfectly that you didn't have a clue. You confirmed that when you jumped from this sub-thread and posted this:

But can you actually set up a DD using just your debit card number - rather than your bank account details on it?

in response to TimJ (AKA Rod).

Thanks for the Xmas wishes. I sincerely hope yours is good too and the same for all in the group, including the deniers. I'll suggest to Santa that he delivers a JCB to make your hole digging easier.

I'll past that on to all the stockings.
