D-I-Y DD grab

Last month, I transferred my Gas supply, British Gas, and my Electricity supply, E-on, over to Octopus. Today, I received a message from E-on saying that my account was at £0, and they needed to change my Direct Debit payment to £5, to 'keep my account in credit'. I tried to log in to my old account online, and as expected, I could not log on, the account doesn't exist any more. But they still want to take £5 monthly from my bank to keep it in credit! I have cancelled the Direct Debit with my bank.

It will be interesting to hear what they reply to my response to their message, asking them what the hell is going on!

They admitted that it was a mistake and apologised. But how many 'little old ladies' might have followed their request?

I doubt whether many "little old ladies" participate in switching!
