How long do E.on take to set up the account of bankrupt suppliers that they have taken over, onto their own systems?
I ask as I was a Symbio electricity customer. and they went broke just over 6 weeks ago.

Today I got the 3rd email from EDF taking over from utility point, who went bust on 18th Sept, EDF are still saying sit calm "it will take us a number of weeks" so I guess these things are in no rush?
I phoned E.ON yesterday (Wednesday) to say that I have not hear anything yet. I spoke to helpful lady who spoke English and I was informed not to worry, they will get around to me in another few weeks. I asked if is is ok for the meter readings and direct debit to still go to Symbio, as their website is still active, she said yes it would be fine.
Has your a/c been direct debited? Mine has not, so in one way I have a free service, but do doubt I will be charged later, or I would be if my Symbio was not in credit.
Octopus haven't finalised Avro changeover yet. Avro went bust 26th Sep.
All my details except final billing and final meter reads are on the Octopus system and Octopus didn't take a DD at the end of last month. (I gave a final reading on both the Avro and Octopus system on 28th Sep.
- I cancelled my DD to Avro immediately they went bust but also set up a new DD with Octopus soon afterwards and which has been acknowledged by my bank.)
the utility point d/d has continued taking payments since they went bust, edf do say they will transfer credit, so those payments ought to get include i guess?
I got an email toady from Octopus telling me to cancel my Avro DD and to claim back any money sent to Avro (by DD) presumably after the date they went bust. However, Octopus did indicate any DD payment sent to Avro and not claimed back would be credited to the Octopus account - but possibly after 14+ days.
My UP account was a few hundred in credit, the D/D payments they have taken in the last 2 months show as taking it further into credit, and obviously no bills are reducing the credit at the moment.
EDF are saying don't cancel the D/D, they'll take it over.
Interesting. I had two accounts with Avro (A - my house and B - m-i-l's house) and they took a DD for account B on the due date, which was 2 days after the announcment of them going bus. I promptly cancelled both DDs, and set up new accounts and DDs ones via the Octopus website. Account B was in credit for about £150 just before the "switch". One of the Octopus update messages said that they were dependant on the Avro staff for finalising the Avro accounts and passing the data to Octopus so that they can take any credit or debit amounts forward into their accounts. Said it would likely be "some weeks".
I was with Igloo and started the swich away from them before they went under but the take over date of my account by Ovo was 2 days before Igloo went pop. My transfer was successful but repaying my £350 credit has handed over to E.on who have picked up Igloo customers.
I called E.on on 2 Nov and they told me the Igloo account would be with the back office team at E.on by 12 Nov (today), and it should take 2-3 weeks for the accounts to be processed and refunds to be processed (via cheque). Let's see if I have my credit back before Christmas but I'm banking on it being done by then...
I've just had emails from Eon to tell me that my ex-Symbio account has been set up with them today. It looks like they're churning through them slowly.
That is indeed interesting. Can you now view your new E.on a/c online?
Yes, both my ex-Symbio and ex-Hub (previously Gulf power) accounts are visible, but I have to log in via
e.on are dropping that brand name for uk domestic customers and migrating them to e.onNext which is a renamed version of the domestic bits of nPower they bought-up a couple of years back.
Seems like Octopus are now providing an outsourced billing system to e.onNext, wonder which (if any) other UK energy resellers are using it?
I had two Symbio a/cs and got an email this morning and am now able to access the two new Eonnext supplies. I had to set up new direct debit details.
deliver.
Other than Octopus themselves, the list so far seems to be e.onNext, EDF and Good Energy
I was with Green, and been transferred to Shell. So far everything has gone smoothly - although slow. The direct debit they've set up has an initial payment well below what I expected, though. But no doubt it will correct after they ask for and get the latest meter reading.
What has your "auto-changer" provider's position been during recent months?
The E.on system does not let me enter a separate billing address for my Electricity a/c. Further my last Symbio bill on the date they went broke uses an estimated meter reading which was somewhat larger than the actual reading. The new E.onnext account uses a much lower start reading which is probably less than what the reading actually was.
