Concealing waste pipe in stud wall

Mar 08, 2008 2 Replies

Getting round to planning a new bathroom. Currently the sink waste pipe isn't concealed at all and runs in front of a wall.

My question is, how do you go about concealing a waste pipe in an existing stud wall? If the studwork is 3" thick (3x2" timbers) and the waste pipe is 40mm, the hole would be almost as thick as the timber

Cut away the stud, and use MDF or ply instead of plasterboard.
