Connecting bathroom sink to waste

I'd appreciate some advice on connecting sink waste in my bathroom.



Currently sink waste (32mm) is connected to the bath waste (40mm), which goes out above floorboard level to the soil pipe running along the wall outside. I want to change this as the connection from the sink to the bath goes along the wall.



So which should I do:



  1. try and move the current waste from sink to bath inside the partion wall
  2. new 40mm waste under floor out to soil, connecting to spare horizontal boss/spigot on soil pipe
  3. new 40mm waste under floor out to soil, connecting to new strap on boss no so far down soil pipe
  4. something I've not thought of

What's the aim here? To avoid a horizonal run of pipe being visible?

Would it be easier to box the pipe or use a bit of chromed copper (yes, they do make large diameter) for the bit on show?

They are always best if connected separately to the 100mm drain. You need to avoid any level runs of pipe, the minimum should be a fall of 1:30.

It is normally not possible to retro-install a drain inside a partition wall, you would have to cut away too much wood. The battens inside are normally only 100mm.

I had sort of thought it wasn't worth the bother trying to get the waste in the wall. Even though I should have said the run from the sink to getting under the bath is around 430mm and the wall is metal stud.
