Composite uPVC Doors - Opinions Please

Oct 23, 2004 3 Replies

Hi all

Does anyone have experience of composite construction uPVC doors? We are looking at "Sterling" model by Hurst Plastics. They look good with long guaratees and claim to be the only stable construction for coloured/wood grain effect finish. Problem is the price (suprise suprise). Good quality white door fitted from reputable supplier - £700 to £900 dependent on glazing etc. Composite door £1300+!

Any comments please?

TIA

Phil

You could have a lovely solid oak, 'doubled glazed' and properly sealed door for that price, no need for 'woodgrain effect' then..

Crikey. How much does a proper door cost?

Free if you ask a double-glazing installer nicely for someone's old one :-). Or self-service at Skips-R-Us
