Can anyone identify this "object"?
A water reservoir?
It's a concrete structure filled with water...too big to be a pool, quite possibly a resevoir for local inhabitants
Surely there aren't enough local inhabitants to warrant that much water?
I don't think it's water. The structure appears to be inclined more than the surrounding mountainous terrain but this may be an aberration in the view. My first guess would be a solar array coloured green either by reflection or design. The roadway heading south has 7 dark blobs, possibly vehicles, and seemingly equidistant. There appears to be a few structures around that also appear green. Perhaps the latest thing in art installations :)) Dunno. GS

Looks like an ammunition store to me, maybe nuclear bombs.
Hey, we'd better ask those Spaniards how they get water to stick to an inclined structure; Just imagine how much real estate could be saved if all our reservoirs could be built at an 70? deg incline.
Now, seriously folks .... the orientation of the device seems a trifle odd; if it was an astronomical observing device - or an energy capturing device - I'd expect it to be oriented to the south - which it ain't. Its alignment seems to be towards the coast - zooming outwards from the referenced URL- perhaps towards the next island (Las Palmas?) or even perhaps to ,.. the African mainland ? Could it be a communication device?
Why not ask the Spanish Embassy .... ?
Solar desalination plant? I know there's a big reverse-osmosis one on Fuertaventura.
It's the Euro tupperware box, where they used to store the cheese mountain
Or maybe a covered reservoir. (115 x 150 metres) . No evidence for either I'm afraid
I do not think that is inclined. It is just the angle of the photo that gives that impression. Towards the bottom of the object there is what looks like a shute. If the camera was reposotioned to make the shute vertical the object would not appera to be on an incline.

It looks like it is 100m by 75m in size. Not big enought for a resevoir IMHO
Adam
It's an artifical farm where they grow all the cucubumpers for Marks & Sparks, they also grow tomatoes for M&S but they're the wrong colour.

They don't, it's perfectly flat, zoom out a bit and notice the excavated area at the 5 o'clock end up to about half way along it's overall length, also take note of the shadow of the built up area of the opposite end.
There are fields all around it if you look carefully, and several farms
That's just the position of the satellite when it took the photo.
Just down the road, towards the coast, is this weird looking object:
Its water I reckon. The structure has a truncated trapezoidal shape, and there are pipes running into it. I can't see any 'tide' marks, so don't think it's slurry.
Andy
I think that's an optical illusion caused by 2 things:
1) The angle of the satellite when it took the picture;2) It's a horizontal structure built into a cutting in a non-horizontal landscape ( a hillside ).
The cutting is obvious, but the slope of the land is not, so the eye tends to assume the land is flat and the structure is inclined. It is probably the other way round.

The link just goes to the original reservoir feature for me.
I know, I've just tried it...this is what I meant, it's not far away from the resevoir:
Go to the first link posted and zoom in as far as possible, you will see that the scale shows 100ft and 20m , then click this:
