IIRC quite a few teachers threw board rubbers at the kids. Good job none of them were good shots.
One teacher was nickednamed "Dapper",as he used to hit kids with a "Dap" (plimsole). However it wasn't a Dap, but a wooden bat. Luckily I was never on the receiving end of that.
I'm sure the dinner ladies at my school were really the witches from MacBeth. They even served custard in a cauldron.
Not sure I want some one else picking my fresh veggies, when I've watched the pickers in Tesco they just grab the ones on top with little selection of "the best". Packaged goods on the other hand I'm not so fussed about.
The =A318 saving from not doing a 60 mile round trip to the Tesco that stocks the items we want (there is one about a 45 mile round trip away but that doesn't stock what we want...) buys quite a lot of "expensive" veggies from the small local Co-op or veggie stall under the Market Cross even if you factor in the delivery charge.
Not while you are insisting on being supplied with a format that you can deal with. It has to be a format most people can deal with. I don't see why there should be a requirement to supply stuff that anyone can deal with other than to offer a printed version if requested. Lets face it not everyone has a computer and they also can't read PDFs or any other "open" standard. You just fall into the same category as people with nintendoes.. doesn't have a suitable computer.
Outlook is far better than anything on linux that I have seen. It reads mail in the format I tell it to, which is plain text unless I want to read HTML.
It also sends mail in the format I tell it to.
It has other advantages to, like being able to handle multiple mail accounts, including gmail, hotmail, imap, pop which most other mail clients fail at.
That is sacrilege, no wonder you missed the rapture yesterday.
So turning that around, maybe I should send everyone .odt files?
So do a lot of apps on linux... I use Thunderbird, does exactly all those things.
But do a lot of other apps, including ones that work in text mode.

It manages to filter out all the spam I get.
Many local authority admin staff are paid well above their work grade and the only reason they agreed to ditch the card index is because their union negotiated them a 'new technology' bonus.
It's the private sectors where you'll find admins doing three things at once and running the business for =A315k and no pension.
If they don't like OpenOffice/LibreOffice there's always TeX ...
