I beg to differ - if a teacher or office secretary can't grasp a trivially simply instruction like that, they are too thick to be working in a school.
Primary schools don't "teach" MS office AFAIK. Besides, no one is ever actually "taught" how to use MS Office, otherwise there wouldn't be problems with asking for a PDF instead of a .doc(x).
So, quite frankly, I think the whole "used to MS Office" is completely spurious. No one knows how to make proper use of most of it anyway (eg correct use of styles to name one).
Most people could have it switched to OpenOffice (or anything else) and they manage to hack out and print a document, badly, just like now.
No son, it does eveything *I* want. I'm not the one who "wants" some crappy format file to open on it.
