Can anyone suggest the best way of colouring the grout between floor tiles? At present it's brown-grey, and I want to lighten it to a mid-grey. Masonry paint?

Maybe some white masonry paint thinned down so that it penetrates. Test in a dark corner first!
I don't know how well any thinned paint (thin enough to be absorbed into the grout) would be able to lighten a dark substrate ... the other way around, maybe.
It'll be a long job, but maybe the only way is to remove some of the existing dark grout to a reasonable depth and regrout lighter ...
OTOH - convince SWMBO that she likes it the way it is ....
