Changing units on kitchen scales

An odd one...

We have a set of kitchen scales, purloined from ebay a couple of years ago; similar to (but not the same as) this:

We use it set to 'grammes'; but every so often the scale changes to 'ounces' for no apparent reason. It's always done it; did it just now (hence I'm putting fingers to keyboard). But try as I might, I cannot work out any method of switching between units. There is only one switch - a push-button - which turns the unit on, and I assume that by some permutation of presses/delays this is supposed to toggle between units. I've tried every combo I can think of, but nothing works!

The only solution is to remove the battery for a decent period, and usually (but not always) that sends it back to a default 'grammes' display. It's irritating as it requires a tool to get it out.

Anyone got something similar? Any clever ideas? Maybe it's just faulty?

The one you linked to has a button for changing units. I've never seen one without. How about a photo of yours, please?

Mine doesn't have a button for changing units - it has an "off" button though, and pressing both the off and on buttons simultaneously switches units.

If it's really single button, perhaps "press and hold"?

You should be using ounces anyway. This is Great Britain, after all! We don't need those foreigners telling us how to measure stuff.

On mine, if you touch the on/off button again, quickly (before the display goes to '0') it will change units.

Well bugger me - spot on! I thought I'd tried every possible button-press but evidently missed that one.

Many thanks, S!

Result! I really do not like those touch buttons, though. My skin is too dry, I suppose. Our scales have buttons like that, and I have to touch my finger to my tongue before the buttons will work.
