only niggle I can see is some fonts which I think ought to be san-serif look like they're using serif font.

The thing that annoys me is that the website relies so much on the mobile app, that you might as well use the mobile app for everything.

Never used it, but the impression is that it's a single point to transfer everything

Odd. 97.0.1 here doesn't work. Chromium does, so that at least a way in.

Correct, there is an "industry standard" process which from my experience works perfectly.

Can't help you particularly with chosing a bank, when Tesco closed their rather good current account I decided the choices were between Nationwide and Starling, as advised by Which?

A mate of mine who does a fair bit of investing is very happy with Starling. I went with Nationwide.

Once you have chosen a bank, you don't need to use the above link. You set up your details with the new bank and somewhere on the web site there will be a form where you specify the account(s) you want transferred to it, and your new bank does all the work.

The one bit of crap I had from Nationwide wasn't really to do with the transfer. The first bank card that they sent out to me never arrived. It didn't take long to get a replacement, just made for a few days delay. However, a couple of months later my card and online access all locked up. After a load of bollocks from the front line customer support (Just come into a branch if you need cash, never mind that it's a 40 mile round trip) they gave me the fraud department.

It turns out that the first card they sent out, which of course had long since been cancelled, eventually made its way back to them. At which point it tripped the process that locks everything up (although at least it did not stop direct debits going out). So I had another week without any access or services while they sent out yet another new card.

I mainly use it on the laptop. No experience of other banks ones, though.

Think banks are like ISPs or other large organsiations. They work OK for most, but annoy when they don't for you. Changing in a fit of pique may or may not bring an improvement.

I have been banking with Santander now for many years, business and personal. No bother at all. Linux no issue.

It's all done automatically by the banks. In theory.

We've no local branch anymore though.

I see no reasons to ever go into a branch. Last time I did was to verify my existence when opening a business account

I encountered the 2FA thing on my long standing NatWest account. One day it went away.

Then I did some cookie farming and it came back. After a while it went away again.

SWMBO deletes cookies on exit. She has to do 2FA all the time.

I have no problems (and never have had) with the above named bank and firefox, on linux.

But I do use a naked browser - ie with no-addons at all, but from its own account specific to banking, and only used for banking.
