Name any chat show which is different. Celebs publicising their latest book, film or record, etc. Twas always thus. Which is why such shows are nice and cheap to make.

The point is that the BBC want their cake and eat it too - at my (and a lot of other people's) expense. This bloated and corrupt Corporation is a piss-taker extraordinaire.
It is absolutely no different in this respect than the commercial channels.
But I do wonder why you listen to Steve Wright is you so obviously hate the format. The choice on radio is vast.
Are you like our Bill Wright - or Mary Whitehouse - force yourself to watch or listen so you have something to whinge about?
