£2000 for a square toilet and basin, they deserved everything they didn't get. :-)

They will have a lot of time to sit on that =A31000 toilet and consider were they went wrong. Its interesting that both houses had different outcomes - one sold within a week with a net profit of =A3100k and one with negative equity of =A320k. A lot seemed to come down to good foresight before they bought the property.

he he, the guy's face when he got the quote for the windows was well funny,

17k wasn't it ?!

It was also the first time (I think) that anyone has gone, actually Sarah you're right the kitchen would be much better here, and gone for it. It was a stunning house to be fair. He was a bit of a tit with regard to the window looking directly into his neighbours bedroom though!

It was a matter of knowing the area and what it would take. What were the tastes of the people in the area, price ceiling? etc. One did the homework, one didn't. One was out to make money and fit the mod-cons that suited the house, area and knew the type of buyer. One started to personalise the house and went overboard, also didn't have the intelligent to see that 70 year old metal windows would be shot.

Which house did I like? The art deco house - It was just in the wrong area. And that Philistine, pillock of an idiot next door need jailing by the style police for putting a pitched roof on an art deco house. Next year I'm sure the fool will do a Plowman and have it stone clad.
