Ball bearing runners - suppliers?

May 02, 2007 3 Replies

I'm after some ball bearing runners for moderate loads around the 20kg to 30kg area. They don't strictly have to be ball-bearing runners but I do want 'rolling' runners. I'd also like 'full extension' ones.

Screwfix seem very expensive (and not clear if they're full extension), ToolStation are cheap but again are they 100% extension?

Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced supplier of good drawer runners?

I'm trying to get prices out of Hettich (I bought quite a big batch of stuff from them a few years ago and they were very helpful) but I don't know how 'reasonably priced' they're going to be.

If it's of any relevance I'm after fairly short runners, probably

300mm.

There are two significant manufacturers - Accuride and Blum.

Accuride are distributed in the UK by Haefele who normally only sell through dealers. You could call and ask them for one or it shouldn't be hard to find one.

Blum are distributed by severa, but the easiest is probably Isaac Lord who will sell to anybody

I can see on their web site that there are 300mm full extension runners for about £10 a pair and then there are various other types.

I've used this guy with very good results:

've bought his cheap slides, and he also supplied some Blum concealed slides at a good price.

That looks just what I need, thanks!
